Filming has officially begun for the highly anticipated movie “Avengers: Doomsday”. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo, known for their previous work on the Infinity Saga, announced the start of production on their Instagram account, sharing a photo from the set accompanied by the simple caption, “Day One”.
Identified as the fifth installment in the core “Avengers” film series, “Avengers: Doomsday” is already generating significant buzz. While the specific timeline for completing the principal photography remains undisclosed, the worldwide premiere date is firmly set for May 1, 2026.
Anticipation further increased following an earlier announcement from Marvel Studios regarding the film`s expansive primary cast. More than 20 superheroes are confirmed to appear, featuring the cinematic debut of new iterations of iconic teams like the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. They will join established fan favorites from various corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including characters originating from the “Thor” and “Black Panther” franchises, among others.
