Quantum Team Responds to Lukas 322 Scandal at EPL S27 – Player Excluded

Esports organization Quantum Team has announced the termination of its collaboration with Dota 2 carry player Dmitry `Lukas` Davydov. This decision follows an incident during European Pro League Season 27, which resulted in the team`s disqualification from the tournament.

🚨 Official Statement from Quantum

We were made aware of a situation that calls into question the integrity of Dmitry `Lukas` Davydov`s play during yesterday`s game against 4Pirates at the EPL tournament. This is absolutely unacceptable and contradicts our principles.

We immediately conducted an internal investigation, reviewed all materials, and took action – the player is no longer part of the organization.

We apologize to his teammates, opponents, and the EPL tournament organizers for what happened. We condemn any manifestations of dishonest play, remain committed to fair play, and are always open to cooperation with organizers for further clarification of the situation.

Thank you to everyone who supports fair esports.

Quantum`s CEO, Daniil Balcer, also shared his thoughts on the incident.

When creating this organization and investing my own funds and effort into it, our goal was to build something we could be proud of.

The situation that occurred is terrible for me. As soon as I found out about it, I instructed the management to conduct an internal investigation and, if confirmed, immediately terminate the contract with the player and anyone else involved in this situation, should they be found.

Quantum`s principles and values are our unquestionable and most important criterion, which is why we are doing all of this.

Anyone who attempts to betray these for questionable immediate gain is not worthy of being associated with our brand.

Never.

The incident occurred during Quantum Team`s match against 4Pirates in the European Pro League S27 group stage on June 29. Lukas`s team lost the series 0:2. Notably, on the second map, Quantum was defeated despite holding an advantage. Subsequently, a recording surfaced online of a portion of the second game from the perspective of Quantum`s stand-in, known as `krinzhik`. The recording reportedly included discussions about betting on the match and phrases indicating the team`s carry player was unwilling to win.

The video caused significant resonance within the Dota 2 community. On June 30, the European Pro League S27 organizers disqualified Quantum Team from the tournament, ruling Lukas`s actions constituted unfair play.
