Gaimin Gladiators midlaner Quinn Callahan recently discussed his reasons for sometimes picking non-meta heroes in matches. In an interview during the BLAST Slam III broadcast, he stated that he often has to resort to less common heroes due to bans. However, he specifically singled out Queen of Pain, admitting that picking her was a poor choice.
“[Beastmaster, Storm Spirit, etc.] – these heroes are definitely better than the ones I play. Queen of Pain is definitely absolute trash, I do not recommend her. The thing is, I get the last pick, and by that time all the best characters are already banned, so I have to come up with something. I suggest heroes that will be good in a specific game, even if they are not strong on their own.”
Quinn played Queen of Pain in a recent match against Team Falcons at BLAST Slam III, a game which Gladiators ultimately lost. Despite the loss in that particular match, Callahan`s team successfully advanced to the quarterfinals of the playoffs after the group stage concluded.
