Alexander “s1mple” Kostylev, who recently joined FaZe Clan on a temporary basis, has publicly stated his opinion that Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut is currently the best player on the professional CS2 scene. This comment from the esports superstar was made during a stream hosted by Roman Mokrivskiy and was subsequently highlighted by the CS2NEWS Telegram channel.
During the conversation, s1mple mentioned that as a player for FaZe Clan, he anticipates facing various significant rivals, including his former team, Natus Vincere (NAVI). However, he specifically expressed a strong desire to defeat Team Vitality, emphasizing them as his most wanted opponent.
“I would be happy to [destroy] Team Vitality in the quarterfinals, even if we lose afterward. Simply [destroy] Vitality – to show them it`s not that easy. […] And what if we also beat NAVI? That`s just… do you understand? Imagine the storylines that could happen. Absolute Cinema could unfold.”
FaZe Clan announced the temporary replacement of Helvijs “broky” Saukants with s1mple on May 5th. Kostylev remains under contract with Natus Vincere; he joined FaZe on a loan basis and is scheduled to represent them specifically at IEM Dallas 2025 and BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.
