Shift Up Negotiating with Sony Over Stellar Blade Steam Regional Restrictions

Shift Up studio has initiated discussions with Sony regarding the possibility of removing regional restrictions for Stellar Blade`s release on Steam. The developers confirmed this update on social media (X).

Earlier in 2024, Sony faced significant backlash when it began requiring a mandatory PSN account link for its PC ports on Steam, even for single-player titles. This policy led to many Sony games being unavailable in regions where PSN services are not officially supported.

Although Sony later rescinded the mandatory PSN linking requirement following widespread criticism, the affected games, including Stellar Blade, did not reappear on Steam storefronts in those unsupported markets.

The PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch on June 11, 2025. The port is expected to support technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, offer enhanced texture detail, an unlocked frame rate, ultrawide monitor compatibility, and more. Additionally, players will receive 25 new costumes and encounter a new boss.
