SilverName Blames AdBlock Users for Reduced Twitch Quality in Russia

Hearthstone streamer Vladislav “SilverName” Sinotov has publicly commented on the recent reduction in Twitch stream quality specifically for users in Russia. According to the content creator, this situation is a direct consequence of the active use of ad blockers by viewers. Sinotov shared his opinion on his personal Telegram channel.

Expressing his frustration, Sinotov stated that Twitch quality for Russia has apparently been limited to 720p. He directly questioned users of ad blockers, suggesting they “got what they wanted” with their actions. Sinotov reiterated his long-held belief that “advertising is an engine of progress,” implying that watching even short ads shouldn`t be difficult, clarifying that his point was about the broader corporate context, not his personal income.

The fact that Russian Twitch users lost the ability to select 1080p broadcast quality on the platform became known around June 23rd. Subsequently, representatives from the organization confirmed the reduction in the maximum available video resolution, citing economic considerations as the official reason.
