sQreen Comments on Potential Edge Disqualification from PGL Wallachia S4

Khaled “sQreen” El-Khabbash, Dota 2 division head for Team Edge, has addressed the situation surrounding the possible disqualification of his team from PGL Wallachia Season 4. This comes after concerns arose regarding sQreen`s bets on tournament matches.

El-Khabbash clarified during a personal Twitch stream that his team cannot be removed from the tournament due to his betting activities. He stated that his actions do not violate the regulations.

“I am responsible for the Dota 2 division, as I`ve said countless times. They cannot [disqualify] us. I don`t bet on Edge`s matches in any way. Plus, the rules state: `Only managers, coaches, and trainers [cannot bet]`, and these individuals are directly at the tournament. I am none of them. <…> [Chat message: `You can`t bet on tournament games`]. I am the Dota 2 manager. It`s a significant position. I`m sitting here, I`m not at the tournament, I have no insider information. I don`t bet on my team`s games. Why are you talking nonsense? I am the Dota 2 division manager.”

On April 19th, El-Khabbash started a live stream where he watched and placed bets on PGL Wallachia Season 4 matches. Subsequently, caster Gleb “y0nd” Vazhnov pointed out that according to the organizers` rules, anyone involved with the teams is prohibited from betting on event matches. As of the time of this report, PGL has not issued any comment on the incident.
