Khaled “sQreen” El-Khabbash, the Dota 2 manager for Mosquito Clan, has shared his reaction to his team`s victory over Heroic in the DreamLeague Season 26 qualifiers. He expressed his thoughts on the team`s advancement to the tournament on Telegram.
“My heart is filled with joy when my underdog team, with a budget three times smaller than Heroic`s, defeats the region`s top seed and prevents them from reaching a Tier 1 tournament. It`s a total stomp! This reminds me of 2015 when I was dismantling Tier 1 organizations with Tier 3 mixes. History repeats itself after 10 years, but in a different role. I am very proud of the guys and eagerly await our bootcamp, which starts the day after tomorrow, where we will play in a tournament with CIS and European teams and prepare for the PGL LAN.”
On the night of April 4th, Mosquito Clan defeated Heroic in the decisive match of the South American qualifier for DreamLeague Season 26. The match concluded with a score of 2:1. As a result, sQreen`s team secured a spot in the tournament, while Heroic was eliminated from contention.
DreamLeague Season 26 will be held online from May 19th to June 1st. Sixteen teams will compete for a $1 million prize pool and 29,200 ESL Pro Tour points.
