Modders exploring the files of the PC version of Stellar Blade have reportedly discovered indications suggesting potential support for cooperative modes and multiplayer. Among the findings are assets and text strings containing “MultiPlay” markers, as well as a demonstration where the screen splits into two upon the appearance of a second character.
A video clip showcasing this was published by the fan account Stellar Blade Brasil. The video indeed shows a second Eve appearing, followed by the interface dividing, similar to classic split-screen gameplay. According to a modder known as phantomSomnus, everything looks as though the game is technically ready for local co-op play using two controllers.
It remains unclear whether developer Shift Up initially planned to include cooperative gameplay, if this was merely an internal prototype that was abandoned, or if the developers are still actively working on incorporating this feature. Nevertheless, the materials found certainly fuel anticipation for Stellar Blade`s upcoming release on PC, in addition to excitement for a potential sequel, which is expected to launch before 2027.
