StrangeR высказался о состоянии профессиональной сцены Dota 2 в 2025 году

Alexander “StrangeR” Solomonov, a Dota 2 team manager, has shared his perspective on the current state of the game`s professional scene. He posted his thoughts on his personal Telegram channel, prompted by the results of the third season of the ESL Pro Tour.

StrangeR expressed concern about the pathway to the Esports World Cup (EWC), noting that qualifying by placing top-4 in just one tournament is a “wake-up call” for the Dota 2 scene. He highlighted a lack of competition for the top-6 teams, evident in their significant points lead.

The scene desperately needs an influx of new professional players, but this isn`t happening. This issue is tied not only to Dota itself but also to the new generation of gamers, which is quite different.

Nevertheless, there are potential future stars out there, and we need to believe in them and provide support!

We can also congratulate Aurora on a successful investment. A commendable result right from the start.

At the time of the original publication, the ESL Pro Tour Season 3 had not yet concluded. The final event of the season is DreamLeague Season 26, taking place online from May 19 to June 1. However, the results from the second stage of the competition have already determined the top-8 teams in the ladder, who will receive direct invitations to Riyadh Masters 2025.
