Team Spirit`s captain, Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov, shared his thoughts on the CS2 squad`s challenges. In an interview before the start of PGL Astana 2025, he stated that the team is struggling to overcome current difficulties to return to winning tournaments.
We want to win tournaments. Every time we get a chance to compete for a trophy, some issues arise, either in-game or outside of it. The team can`t perform at its best. We often lose in overtime rounds, we lose clutch situations… We let advantages slip in matches against MOUZ and Falcons, we fought well against Vitality, but we weren`t able to close those games out in our favor. To win, we need to give our absolute maximum effort. We`ll try to do that at PGL Astana 2025 and see what the outcome is for the Major.
Vishnyakov highlighted that the Team Spirit players understand their mistakes clearly, yet even consistent effort to fix them hasn`t brought the team closer to winning titles.
When watching demos, we easily identify where we made a mistake, where we were unlucky, or where a poor decision was made or I gave a bad call. It`s not difficult to see, but… We are trying to eliminate our shortcomings, but it hasn`t been effective in recent tournaments. The team is working, playing a lot, watching replays, but something is… We just need to take one step forward, but we are struggling to do so. We will try our best at PGL Astana 2025 to build confidence before the Major.
Team Spirit completed the PGL Astana 2025 group stage without a single loss. In the first round of the playoffs, chopper`s squad will compete against Ninjas in Pyjamas.
