Team Vitality Welcomes Uzbek Grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov

Uzbek grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov will now officially represent the prominent esports organization Team Vitality. The announcement was made public by the club through their social media platforms.

Sindarov`s addition makes him the second chess player to join the Vitality roster. His signing comes just months after the club welcomed French grandmaster Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, a move that followed the confirmation of chess as a discipline at the upcoming Esports World Cup 2025. Currently, the 20-year-old Uzbek holds the 31st position in the official FIDE world rankings.

The chess tournament at the Esports World Cup 2025 is scheduled to take place from July 29th to August 1st in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event will feature a significant prize fund totaling $1.5 million. A field of 16 players will compete: 12 participants will receive direct invitations based on their standings in the Champions Chess Tour 2025, while the remaining four spots will be contested through a last-chance qualification event. High-profile players already confirmed to participate include Hikaru Nakamura of Team Falcons, Ian Nepomniachtchi representing Aurora Gaming, and Magnus Carlsen under the Team Liquid banner.
