The wait is nearing its end for fans of propane and propane accessories. Hulu has officially released the full trailer for the much-anticipated return of “King of the Hill,” confirming the animated sitcom`s 14th season is set to premiere on August 4th.
This new season picks up the story approximately 15 years after the original series concluded its run. Viewers will find Hank and Peggy Hill returning to Arlen, Texas, ostensibly to begin their retirement phase, following a period spent abroad in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, their son Bobby has grown up and is pursuing a career as a chef in Dallas, suggesting a shift in his familiar dynamic with his parents.
One significant point of interest addressed in the trailer release is the voice cast. Producers have confirmed that the majority of the original cast members are returning to voice their iconic characters, maintaining continuity and familiar voices for the fanbase. However, there are notable changes.
Comedian and actor Ronnie Chieng (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” “M3GAN”) joins the cast to voice Khan Souphanousinphone, the Hills` Laotian neighbor. This role was previously voiced by Toby Huss. In a related casting adjustment, Toby Huss will now take over the role of Dale Gribble. This change follows the passing of Johnny Hardwick, the original voice actor for Dale, ensuring the character remains part of the narrative.
The 14th season will consist of ten episodes. In a move consistent with modern streaming practices, all ten episodes will be released simultaneously on Hulu, allowing viewers to binge-watch the entire season upon its debut.
“King of the Hill” originally aired from 1997 to 2010, celebrated for its grounded portrayal of everyday life in a fictional Texas town and its subtle social commentary through the lens of the Hill family and their neighbors.
