To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the critically acclaimed game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, developer CD Projekt RED has unveiled some intriguing player statistics collected over the past decade.
The studio shared these figures, specifically related to the Complete Edition of the game, via their official X (formerly Twitter) page. The data highlights significant player engagement since its release.
According to the statistics, players have collectively initiated more than 17 million playthroughs of the epic RPG over the last ten years. Throughout these extensive gaming sessions, the cumulative number of player deaths recorded across all playthroughs exceeds a staggering 613 million.
The data also identifies which enemy posed the most significant challenge to players. Based on average player attempts, the most difficult boss encounter was Dettlaff van der Eretein, the final antagonist from the beloved “Blood and Wine” expansion. On average, players succumbed to Dettlaff nine times before finally managing to defeat him.
