According to data compiled by Streams Charts, TikTok Live ascended to the second position among streaming platforms based on aggregate viewer hours during the first quarter of 2025, overtaking Twitch.
From January through March 2025, audiences collectively spent over 8 billion hours watching streams on TikTok Live. Over the same period, Twitch recorded 4.85 billion hours watched. Considering all major streaming platforms outside of China, these figures represent 27% and 16.3% of the total live stream viewership, respectively. YouTube Live maintained its leading position with nearly 15 billion hours watched, accounting for a 50.3% share of the market.
Despite this shift in overall rankings, Twitch retains its dominance within the gaming content sector. More than 77% of the content viewed on Twitch is gaming-related, significantly higher than on other platforms where gaming content typically represents less than 15% of viewership.
