Tom Henderson Reveals Potential Release Timeline for Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Remake

According to insider Tom Henderson, Ubisoft is planning to release the remake of Assassin`s Creed IV Black Flag after Assassin`s Creed Shadows. Henderson initially reported that Ubisoft intended to launch the Black Flag remake in 2025. However, due to the postponement of Assassin`s Creed Shadows, the release dates for other projects have been adjusted.

Ubisoft is now aiming for a 2026 release for the remake; however, this timeline is subject to change. Following the Black Flag remake, Ubisoft is developing Assassin`s Creed Hexe, a new installment in the series set to explore witch hunts in medieval Europe, with a planned release in 2027.

The original Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag was released in 2013 and is available on PC, PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and One, Nintendo Switch, and Wii U. Rumors about a remake have been circulating since 2023, and alleged gameplay footage of the updated game surfaced in autumn 2024. Ubisoft has not officially announced the remake yet.
