Enthusiasts of free-to-play football games on PC can now mark their calendars: a complimentary demo for UFL will be accessible on PC during the upcoming Steam Next Fest event, running from June 9th to June 16th.
Developer Strikerz Inc. is still targeting a full PC release within 2025, though a specific launch date remains unconfirmed. According to studio CEO Eugene Nashikov, insights gathered from the demo period will be vital for refining the PC version, stating that they are “getting closer” to the release.
For players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, UFL is already available and received a substantial update in late May.
This recent patch introduced significant enhancements to offensive gameplay, aiming for a more fluid and engaging experience. Adjustments were also made to player stamina to better simulate realistic fatigue. Furthermore, the update added two officially licensed stadiums: Bridge Meadow and Alphamega Stadium.
UFL is among a growing wave of free-to-play sports simulation titles vying for market share in a genre largely dominated by major players like EA Sports and 2K Games.
Adopting a free-to-play strategy, similar to games like Maximum Football, UFL intends to lower entry barriers and attract a large player base. This model aims to fund ongoing development through the sale of in-game cosmetic items, with new additions included in the latest update.
