Valve Artist Hints at Possible Half-Life 3 Development

A concept artist at Valve, Evgeny Evstratiy, has revealed that he was in a room where Half-Life 3 is being developed. He shared this information during the CG Voices podcast.

Evstratiy mentioned he wasn`t sure if he was allowed to talk about it, but stated that he visited a space where development was underway. However, he did not see the game itself:

“I don`t know if I can talk about it or not, but I was in the room where they are making Half-Life 3. I didn`t see the development itself, but I saw the office, whiteboards, computers. As I understood it, this is not their first attempt, so what they are doing now may not be finished. Even considering Deadlock, the company`s philosophy… they have their own standard below which they don`t want to go, and if a game doesn`t meet the standards, it can very well be frozen or canceled.”

Evstratiy has been working at Valve for several years. His work can be found in Deadlock, and according to the artist, he was involved in changing the visual style to the current version of the title.
