Dataminer Maxim “Gabe Follower” Poletaev initially brought attention to the fact that the domain was set to expire on June 28. Shortly after this observation was made public, the domain`s registration was extended. Users on Reddit subsequently confirmed through Valve`s technical support that the company remains the official owner of the domain.
Despite this development, no official announcement has been made concerning the possible development or planned release of Half-Life 3. However, insider DanielRPK previously reported that production on the game has already begun and that it is intended to be the final installment in the series following Gordon Freeman`s story.
