The Virtus.pro Dota 2 team will begin their participation in the FISSURE Special tournament with a stand-in player. Mid-laner Artem “Lorenof” Melnik will miss the first matches of the competition due to personal circumstances. This information was announced on the club`s social media.
During this period, Lorenof`s place in the team will be taken by Ilya “Squad1x” Kuvaldin. Georgy “drAmer” Faleev, head of Dota 2 direction at VP, commented on this temporary substitution.
“There are no hidden meanings in this substitution. Even before the DreamLeague qualifiers, Artem informed us that he would be unable to play for about a week after the qualifiers due to personal reasons. When we accepted the invite to FISSURE Special, the organizers were notified in advance that we would play the first matches with a stand-in. Thanks to Ilya for agreeing to help and play a few games.”
FISSURE Special will be held online from April 5th to 13th. The prize pool for the tournament is $70,000.
