The Virtus.pro team will not be participating in the closed qualifiers for The International 2025 dedicated to the Eastern Europe region. This news was shared by representatives of the tournament organizer PGL via their X social media account.
The specific reasons behind VP`s decision to withdraw from the qualifiers were not disclosed. Virtus.pro was initially expected to compete in the EE closed qualifiers alongside teams like Natus Vincere, One Move, L1ga Team, and Aurora Gaming, all of whom also received direct invites from Valve. It currently remains uncertain whether Virtus.pro intends to pursue qualification through open qualifiers in a different region.
This follows an earlier withdrawal from the Eastern Europe closed qualifiers by Natus Vincere. NAVI`s roster opted to seek their spot at TI 2025 via the Western Europe open qualifiers to avoid scheduling conflicts with the Riyadh Masters 2025 tournament.
The closed qualifiers for The International 2025 in Eastern Europe are scheduled to take place from June 4th to 8th. This regional qualifier will determine a single team that will secure a coveted spot at the year`s most prestigious Dota 2 championship.
