Virtus.pro’s Rein on PGL Wallachia S5 Disappointment

Virtus.pro`s Dota 2 support player, Vladislav “Rein” Kosygin, has addressed the team`s unsatisfactory performance at PGL Wallachia Season 5. In a statement shared on Telegram, he highlighted issues with their drafting phase as a key factor.

Rein explained that the team “didn`t feel the meta well” and admitted they “didn`t really use heroes like Axe, QoP, Fiend, DP.” He stated that they “overcomplicated several strategies in a couple of days” and ultimately “couldn`t agree on something workable.”

Describing the result as “unsatisfactory,” Rein mentioned they would take “a couple of days to be sad” but would then transition into “full hard preparation for EWC” (Esports World Cup). He expressed the team`s ambition to “try to surprise you this year,” acknowledging that fans “already saw top 16” and “need something else.”

PGL Wallachia Season 5 took place in Bucharest, Romania, from June 21 to 29, featuring 16 teams competing for a $1 million prize pool. Virtus.pro finished the tournament in 15th-16th place after suffering losses to Team Tidebound, BetBoom Team, and Nigma Galaxy during the group stage.
