Scammers are attempting to steal gamers` accounts by sending out fake invitations to beta test The Witcher 4. Fans of the series and CD Projekt RED have raised concerns about this issue.
Cybercriminals have begun distributing emails to gamers, falsely inviting them to participate in a closed beta test for the next installment of The Witcher series. CD Projekt RED has alerted players, stating that they are not currently conducting any beta tests involving general users.
Previously, similar tactics were used by scammers to steal Steam accounts from fans anticipating Subnautica 2. In February 2025, players received messages on Steam and social media offering registration for beta testing on a third-party website. When fans entered their account details, scammers stole their accounts.
The premiere trailer for The Witcher 4 was revealed during The Game Awards 2024. Ciri will be the main protagonist of the game. The release date remains unknown.
