Woxic Comments on Aurora’s Performance After PGL Astana 2025 Group Stage

Aurora Gaming sniper Ozgur “woxic” Eker shared his thoughts on the team`s performance after the group stage of PGL Astana 2025 for CS2.

Overall, we are not satisfied with our game, but I think it`s not that bad considering we had a break from official matches for almost a month and a half. We still managed to qualify for the playoffs despite unsatisfactory individual and team performance. But we started improving day by day and getting used to this [level] again. In the end, I am happy because we still made it to the playoffs, and advancing is what matters.

Probably yes, [the break is the main reason for our slump]. We just recently started actively working again, training daily and playing official matches. I believe this will help us regain our old form, and, as I said, in the end, when you reach the playoffs, it doesn`t matter.

Eker also outlined his expectations for the team in the final stage of the tournament.

Always, when you reach the playoffs, you set a goal to win the tournament, but so far, we haven`t managed to achieve this. I think this is our seventh playoff appearance, so I hope we can do it this time. I won`t make big statements because I`ve done that before and it didn`t help, so I don`t want to jinx it. We`ll see. We will do our best to win the trophy. We are one of the tournament favorites right now.

PGL Astana 2025 is currently taking place in Kazakhstan from May 10 to 18, featuring a prize pool of $625,000. Aurora Gaming secured a spot in the playoffs with a 3-2 record from the group stage. They are scheduled to face The Mongolz in the first round on May 16 at 8:00 AM Moscow time.
