Team Spirit Dota 2 player Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk recently shed light on what drives him to continue his professional career, especially after achieving the pinnacle of success with two The International championships. In an interview with BLAST, Mulyarchuk explained that his primary motivation stems not from tournament victories, but from his deep affection for the game itself and the satisfaction he gains from playing.
Responding to a question about what keeps him from stopping even after winning two The International tournaments, Yatoro stated: “My motivation is not related to tournaments. I just love this game and will play as long as I can. During the break, I realized that I just need to win with a good team, be around cool people, and enjoy myself.”
When asked if he ever feels the urge to retire, considering his age and the possibility of exploring other interests, Yatoro replied: “Despite the intense schedule, I think playing in tournaments is cool. I see no point in thinking about retirement hobbies like swimming or fishing; I only care about being able to play Dota 2. Play more, play better, and play at a high level.”
Team Spirit`s next challenge will be BLAST Slam III, scheduled to take place from May 6 to 11 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The tournament features a substantial prize pool of one million dollars.
