Mathieu `ZywOo` Herbaut, the Team Vitality CS2 sniper, shared his perspective on why Team Falcons has become a significantly more challenging opponent. He discussed how the team, particularly after roster changes, managed to compete effectively against top teams like Vitality in the final of IEM Melbourne 2025. ZywOo shared his thoughts in an interview.
According to ZywOo, the skill gap among the top-tier teams is always narrow. He believes that Falcons currently boast a formidable lineup, stating that playing against them has become genuinely difficult since the arrival of Ilya `m0NESY` Osipov.
Reflecting on their previous iteration, ZywOo noted, “With Degster, they were easy to read.” However, the dynamic has shifted dramatically. “But now, Falcons have the ubiquitous m0NESY, and NiKo calling on the CT side, which makes it hard to predict what they will do every single round. That`s why it`s truly difficult.”
He emphasized the constant need for peak performance from Vitality. “But, as we`ve said, against MOUZ, Spirit or anyone else, we have to give 100%, otherwise, we can be beaten. We must give our maximum effort every time. We cannot give them any chances because they will take them. We need to keep going like this.”
Team Falcons announced the signing of Ilya `m0NESY` Osipov on April 14th. The young sniper made his debut for the team at IEM Melbourne 2025, where Falcons reached the grand final. In the decisive best-of-five series, the team was narrowly defeated by Team Vitality with a score of 2:3.
